XFCE
From Grokdoc
"Xfce is a lightweight desktop environment for various *NIX systems. Designed for productivity, it loads and executes applications fast, while conserving system resources." Olivier Fourdan, creator of Xfce
XFCE should be considered one of the heavy weight windows managers. It is light weight compared to Gnome and KDE but is very flexible and extensible while offering a rich visual experience.
XFCE has a file manager (single click on a manila folder icon) that allows browsing of the devices listed in your /etc/fstab file - (what does that mean?) - it just basically means that if you have CD or DVD drives, or, for instance, photo printers that you plug your photo cards into, or a floppy drive, and these devices are properly configured (say, for instance during the original install), then you will have an easy-to-use tool available to mount, unmount, and browse the files located on these devices.
