Hi! I read your "pre-usability" issues. I looked around a little in http://www.knoppix.net/ and found (through http://www.knoppix.net/get.php ) this mirror in the US ftp://raven.cslab.vt.edu/pub/linux/knoppix/KNOPPIX_V3.4-2004-05-10-EN.iso , apparently of an english ISO, which downloads in a little more than an hour (for me, in Spain!). I suggest you to try knoppix or mandrake-move over SuSE, as I'm not sure if SuSE live-CD is just an "evaluation CD" with no way to install in the hard disk :-/ (just be warned). Why don't you move your journal-of-experiences to Usability-raw (or at least link from there to here, which is way less invasive, in case you fear a trolling reputation)?
