The device vaguely similar to a TV usually is refered to as a monitor, or screen, or display.
On Laptop (portable) computers the display is sometimes refered to as a TFT (or for ancient computers: LCD) after the technique used.
Computer displays and screens use pixels to construct a picture. A pixel is the smallest dot that can be colored. Every letter consists of many pixels. The resolution, that is how many pixels are present in a given area, is for historical reasons measured in DPI, Dots Per Inch.
Some computers allow their output to be displayed on a real TV, so in some cases there may be no physical difference between display and a TV. You may as well look at video sequences or even TV broadcastings on your computer.
