Well, while that's true, you have to be aware that Slackware probably isn't for people who can't manually configure lilo. Either way, i believe that'll be fixed in the next version (at least that's what i've read on the changelog.)

The partitions will be labeled as Windows instead of DOS; but I don't know if liloconfig is going to be setup to auto-configure dual booting. -Current Changelog -- Search for Wed Jun 2 11:29:58 PDT 2004

Installing a Printer or other device

In Slackware as with several other packages, the installation or recognizing a printer is sometimes a bit querky. I would like to see discussion of making this easier

General Printer/Printing Help

Linuxprinting.org has some good tutorials and support files on seting up printers using CUPS/lpd (PPDs, foomatic, ghostscript wrappers, etc.). They also have a nice database of printers, which allows you to search through both printers and drivers.

The detection of printers is pretty bad though, but normally as long as your parallel port (paraport_pc and lp modules) or USB ports are working correctly you should be good. I say should as there are always exceptions to the norm.
