- RUTE Users Tutorial - Linux: Rute Users Tutorial and Exposition by Paul Sheer. Very clear if a little outdated tutorial. Great foundation. Worth working through. Available as PDF and HTML download and also on-line as web pages. Do a web search on RUTE to find a suitable download site near you.
- CLI for noobies series - Will teach you the basics of the Command-Line Interface
- Getting Linux Help HOW-TO - The current draft of a HOW-TO document on finding help on Linux using the web, internet relay chat and other resources.
- www.raybenjamin.com - Real Life Adventure's in Open Source -- Ray Benjamin's web log of his experiences using open source software. The site includes many tutorial articles that have been written aimed at the new Linux user.

- The Gentoo forums are very helpful to newbies, even if you don't use Gentoo.

The Debian IRC Channel #debian, on irc.debian.org, is really handy. There are always experts hanging around ready to answer any and all questions. However, they can be cruel when asked questions that they believe are already answered in the Fine Manual.
The Gentoo IRC channel, #gentoo, is another great resource. With hundreds of people ready to answer any question, gentoo-related or not.
