The Mozilla Email Client (mozilla-mail)
Mozilla has an excellent email client that is quite sufficient for the needs of users that don't need a scheduler/organizer bundled with their email client (or else choose evolution). It has the one of the best client-side junk mail filters that can be found and starts filtering out junk right away, without needing any prior configuration. One drawback, though, is that if you want to direct mail from your subscribed mailing lists to specific folders, you have to set it manually (under Tools->Message Filters).
Mozilla and remote X-servers
When I start Mozilla while other Mozilla windows are already open on the desktop, the active Mozilla window gets the command to load the specified URL. In most cases this is the desired effect. If you are attempting to start a new version of Mozilla from a remote machine this fails. It fails horribly when you are trying to display a file on the remote machine as the original Mozilla won't be able to find it.
I wonder how many newbies will be starting Mozilla from remote machines...
try to start another mozilla
Mozilla profiles and multiple desktops
When I start a mozilla and keep browsing it starts with the default profile okay no problem. But the problem creeps up when you switch to another virtual desktop and start a mozilla (without knowing there is mozilla already running). Now it asks for a profile since already a mozilla is running with the default profile. For a newbie this is confusing and he ends up creating huge amount new of profiles to get rid of this problem. And all his profile data gets distributed into various profiles.
Mozilla should offer the option to use the same profile for al users without asking for it every time.
Printing from Mozilla
Mozilla (as several other programs) seems to have a personal way of doing printing. I usually end up printing to a mozilla.ps file, and doing lp -d printer mozilla.ps from the command line. Configuring the printing in Mozilla is also possible, but sometimes it's more difficult to me, so I suppose it will be also for a total newby.
