Installfest

Many Linux user groups (LUGs) run regular installfests, where they are willing to help anyone get almost any Linux working on almost any hardware. Many installfest regulars are alpha geeks who know various hardware and software inside and out, while others actually know how to talk to novice users in comprehensible language, and find out what needs to be done. You can also contact your local LUG to ask for free installation help at a school or non-profit, or for paid help in a commercial setting.
