Gentoo-Mozilla Mail/Thunderbird
From Grokdoc
Mozilla and Mozilla's standalone email client Thunderbird, are two of the best email clients to choose from - if you don't need the calender functions that Evolution offers. For Gentoo users, installing it is simple:
Mozilla Install:
su -
Password: (enter password for root)
emerge mozilla
exit
Mozilla Thunderbird Install:
su -
Password: (enter password for root)
emerge mozilla-thunderbird
exit
NOTE: You only need to install one of these clients. Mozilla Thunderbird is a standalone client, while Mozilla features a whole suite of utilities - browser, email client, etc. Choose one based on how you like to work.
Once installed, you can start Mozilla by typing mozilla in your console, or choose it from your menu. (KMenu for KDE users, Gnome Menu for Gnome users, of course) The same thing goes for Mozilla Thunderbird.
You can also emerge a binary version of Thunderbird by appending -bin to the end of the package name - eg. emerge mozilla-thunderbird-bin. This can save a ton of time, especially when dealing with Thunderbird's fast upgrade cycle.
EDIT BY ANOHTER USER:
There is a mozilla calendar plug-in I use it all the time, it's great.
