Creating PDF files

The KDE and GNOME printer windows allow you to convert a file to pdf.
- Open the file you want to convert in a kde/gnome application and select 'Files' 'Print'
- In the menu where you select printer, you can amongst other things choose to "print" your file to a pdf file.
- Select the filename of your new pdf file
- Click on the 'print' button
OpenOffice also has direct export to the pdf - format
